I’ve been a loyal viewer of the US presidential election. I’ve been watching the news about the latest information, campaign, and events throughout the senator’s campaigns.
2 months, for two months I have spent my days by updating myself with the current news. Not that I’m into politics or something, but I’ve realized the consequences of how the election and whoever win the election will affect the world, the perception and lifestyles of both the Americans and people throughout the world. Those are the first reason why I’ve been trying to catch up with the current events throughout the days. Barack Obama, another reasons why the presidential campaign obligated me to stay tune with the news. CNN has been my best friend for the past few months. Obama has become a global symbol of hope. When was the last time the world looked upon a single person as an ambassador of hope and change? Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King seem to be the closest examples of great global who inspired many to be forces of good in the modern era.
Obama can be made to be an icon of the minorities battling an oppressive status of quo. He has already created ripples in the global political pond. His victory was not only welcomed around the world, it also led many people to reflect about the political conditions in their countries.

Obama has energized young people to believe in their idealism and their readiness to shake the political institutions. Obama has this effect on global politics. This should be welcomed. George Bush, has know nothing thoroughly about the rest of the world. But Obama, he can deliver America closer to the rest of the world, change a whole new global perception about America, stop the war in Iraq and end their suffering, bring back the Americans soldiers home with their family, solve the issues about the global warming and the effect of US recession.

13, the number of hour that I spent watching CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera during the election day. 5th of November, 12 pm, the celebration of the democrats and the hoping soul all over the world, when Barrack Obama has been announced as the winner of the US presidential election. His victory has brought tears of happiness to Americans, Kenyans(the home of his step mother), Tokyo, Palestine, Iraq and the rest of the world. 338 electoral votes, the magic number that he won.

His victory speech, was so deep and truly inspired me and people who was watching him standing graciously giving his speech. Barack Obama is not perfect, he is not the saviour, he is not a messiah, he is not The One. Barack Obama is a man. He’s a man who dares to dream and he’s a man who dares to dream out loud; he’s the person you meet at the point of your life when everything is going to hell and don’t you think you can do anything good or right while he listens to you and he smiles and he sys, “yes you can.” We love those people not just because they make us feel good or because they are charismatic people whom we can’t help but love, no, we love them because they are courageous enough to talk about hope and love and appeal to our better natures in a world where its easy to be dark and cynical and jaded. That’s a real courage, it’s the courage of human spirit and it’s the courage that has built civilizations and founded everything good as we species has ever done. Believing in what we can be isn’t naïve, it’s the essence of humanity, and I’m just not willing to let go of it. And I think his speech was a true inspiration, not only to Americans people, but to people around the world. One of the greatest speech I’ve heard so far.

something to do with gp class

Ms Sheena told us to create our own GP blog, oblivious about my own personal blog, so i created another one, for the sake of GP. So yeah, here i am.. I am not going to introduce about my self or anything, no, not on this blog.
To tell the stories of so many others without telling my own seemed to ignore a fundamental premise which i believe is invaluable in counseling. That is, the level to which i am willing to experience my own pain, fear, despair, love, joy and any other emotion throughout the GP class, or perhaps throughout the day in college? Those are the the level which i will be able to join with another in their own exploration.
I have ventured into that dark chasm of stress and fear and am willing to enter it again in the hope that by sharing the journey we can help each other shed a light upon the path. If i feel awkward and don't know what to say or do, then rest assured i will change the conversation through my body language, questions or responses.
My life has been blessed by many ups and downs. These experiences have pushed me to explore parts of myself i would otherwise never willingly ventured into. My path to be able to fully concentrate during the GP class has led right through the heart of anguish. In telling my story i know that we will find the common ground because our stories and experience are all woven from a common thread. These events may differ but the paths are similar.
Today's Note-To-Self : Mc Donald isn't really that heaven after all after watching the decent movie of "Supersize Me" and after knowing the consequences of taking daily meal of fast food. Mc Donald spelled D.E.C.E.I.V.E.R =)
